Our Timeline

Jan 2007- Initial Meeting with Adoption Agency

Feb 6, 2007 We picked up our Home Study Package and paid our first deposit.

Feb 7, 2007 Criminal Record Checks Done

Feb 14, 2007 Medical Checkups for both of us!

Feb 14, 2007 Prior Contact Forms with the Ministry for Children and Families. (They check to see if a child in our care has ever been removed)

Feb 15,2007 Kim's Blood Tests

Feb 16, 2007 Collecting all the required documents; Passports for both of us, original birth certificates, marriage certificate, records of employment, financial records, reference checks (done by some very lovely people Thank you!)

Feb 18,2007 Our first visit with our Social Worker for our Home Study.

Feb 20, 2007 Drew's Blood Tests

Feb 26,2007 All Medical History Forms completed

March 4, 2007 2nd visit with our Social Worker for our Home Study.

March 18, 2007 Our third visit from our Social Worker for our Home Study.

April 9, 2007 Today was our LAST visit with our Social Worker! We signed off on our home study!

June 26, 2007 We are now DTC (Dossier to China).

July 11, 2007 YEAH! We have received our LID of July 2, 2007!

February 2, 2008 Transferred our homestudy to Sunrise Adoption Agency to adopt from Taiwan. We will receive their 13th referral from the Chung Yi orphanage in Taipei . We are still maintaining our position in China as well.

July 25, 2008 - Registered with Family Outreach International (FOI) to be placed on their Waiting Child list and paid them our first deposit.

August 2008- Home Study Revision & Home inspection

September 11 2008 -Received Provincial Approval to adopt a child with a SN from China. Our Dossier is forwarded to FOI.

March 27, 2009 -Received Referral!!!

March 28, 2009- Sent Letter of Intent (LOI) to China

April 8, 2009 - Received Pre-approval!

May 4, 2009 - Signed the Letter Seeking Confirmation (LSC)

June 10, 2009 Received Travel Approval (TA)

July 13, 2009 Gotcha Day!
